Question n/a MK3 2.0 TI-VCT spark plug boots?

Happy Monday all,

So as we all know, decent plug wires can make a great difference in your car's idle and overall, how it runs. What about us with plug boots? Do you think there is an advantage in "performance" plug boots? If so, do any of you know where to find better boots for the MK3?

Thanks everyone!!

Moved to Duratec TiVCT performance section, "tuning" section is for info. on reflashing the computers for performance (loading tunes).

The earlier duratec coil "boots" consist of a rubber boot and a metal wire coil to connect coil & plug. I assume the MkIII type is identical in design.

Damaged ones can cause trouble, but I can't see any "performance" variety possible. Direct wire connection and protective insulation is hard to improve on.

Thanks for the move. Still learning my way around. And yea I figured as much. I was just curious if anybody found crazy "superconductive performance copper boots" and if it made a difference lol

There actually were performance coils avail. for earlier models, but between price & no measurable improvements they kinda fell flat in the market. Haven't checked if they're still available.

Where are the super silicone yellow plug boots from Accel? Untapped market for cool looking "performance" parts!

haha gotcha. Yea I wasnt expecting much. Im the kinda guy that if it helps a little bit (in this case if I got better idle or something small out of it) I might as well do it if it's not pricy.

What about spark plugs? Are there any performance enhancing plugs worth swapping to for these cars???

When I had a wrx, everybody was recommending upgrading the plugs before getting a tune. Just curious if there is any benefit with the mk3.

Ive used beryllium copper ignition springs before, these dont corrode like
Regular springs which can turn green....one automaker was criticised for using piano
Wire to make ignition springs!!
