Don't hold your breath. It's a very extensive process. A lot of things need to be changed in order for it to work. The compression needs lowered, injectors etc, etc. I'm not saying it can't be done, in fact, Tom is working on one right now. I'm just saying they built this engine with no intention of adding a turbo, which makes it more of a pain in the ass to built the kit.

Honestly... unless you are going for big power and intend to be replacing the engine/turbo/brakes/suspension etc etc.... I would just buy an ST rather than spending the money on a kit. It just doesn't make financial sense IMO. You won't just get the turbo with an ST, you will get the engine intended to be used with a turbo (i.e. injectors/probably oil squirters/gearbox to cope with it to start with/the brakes/exhaust system/suspension etc etc.

If you intend to do things like upgrade suspension and brakes in the future then you will see how this reinforces this approach. Don't get me wrong, I'm a car enthuathiast and have spents thousands on cars that were not worth it in the past.... so enjoy it, enjoy the building, but I'd personally just aim for the ST as a base.

You know... I was thinking about this today, and you know what.... I would actually attempt a turbo/supercharger with used parts if the cost was below 1000. Beyond that, I can't really see the reason for not getting the ST. With that sort of budget, you are not going to get reliability though, and unless someone does a deal with a tune with specific parts, the budget will be very quick eaten up :-(

Almost all the aftermarket kits are built for motors that werent intended to have turbo... you cant realistically slap on a turbo kit, no matter how well designed or thought out and expect to not have to deal with tuning, changing out the pistons, buying gauges to monitor vitals, boost controller, other upgrades..brakes, suspension, clutch... it would be cheaper to just buy an ST.

Sure it'd be cheaper to buy an ST, but then mod that and it adds up quick. And anyways, some like building more than buying. Make it yours and all.
