Thumbs up Does anyone know of someone or has anyone taken apart their engine for any reason?

If you do, PICS! and mileage and all the good info. Itd be great to know how well these hold up over different driving applications.

if you love the focus then go to a ford dealer and trade for a 5 speed. I would not recommend trying to do swaps it will cost more.

Are you asking what the highest mileage MKIII drives/feels/health-wise like? I'd be curious too. I assume smooth sailing until ~150K?

I'm just curious about build ups on piston and intake valves. The inside of a engine is a wonderful thing

I've had my Focus since Aug 2012 and I've accumulated 40k miles and it still runs and idles like it did when it had 4 miles on it. However, I've had some GDI/GTDIs come in that idle rough as shit. Of course, I've done an induction service on my car every 10k... All depends on how you care for it. I plan on running mine 'til it won't run anymore.

Forgot to mention... I would highly recommend full(y) synthetic oil for any GDI or GTDI motor. I have seen what conventional/synthetic blend looks like combined with poor maintenance habits. Next time I get a chance, I'll take pictures of what I mean.

Where do you enter for the induction service? i have always gone through the pcv but i dont see one on these engines. I see the hose that goes off the valve cover to the air filter inlet, is that where you went? i always thought you were supposed to go through the intake manifold but i dont see a line into it.
