I have the textured one not piano black one so it is one pice but I did cut the slots out on the back side

Its probably because your car idles a little higher when you first start it up until it warms up a bit. That would be my guess anyway.

i don't know either, It has always growled at low RPM's and gets higher as you press the pedal imho. depends on how you drive?

Just installed mine last weekend! I removed the bottom half of my triangle and also used an AEM prefilter. Sounds great! I'll try to get some pics soon.

Hmmm the idle sound is the same though. The first CAI 'growl' (2000 to 4000 rpm) is different and a lot more like a Subaru boxer engine. After the first one, it's a bit higher pitched, louder and far less pleasant to my hears.



I'll try and record the difference next time I'm on an empty parking lot.
