Tuned my car back to stock, no more injected tune

Since this summer I've been running a Injected tuner on my 2012 5 spd HB. Last week I decided to remove the 91 octane tune that I've been running and I don't notice any difference in performance.

There are a couple things that the tune did do, it spooled up the cooling fans to pretty much run all the time, which I find incredibly annoying. It also seemed to allow the throttle to open fully even if the RPM's were low, where as with stock the throttle seems to only open up to where it wants it to be (Iím actually fine with that, it didn't seem to give any more power anyways). And the last thing that I noticed is it changed how the MPG's were displayed and how it calculated miles to empty. With it stock it seems to be a lot closer to the actual MPG and the distance till empty seems to be way off when stock.

So overall I don't see the tuner as helping me or seeing any difference when the car is tuned versus not tuned (besides better MPG when stock). I don't think I'll run the Injected tuner anymore and will probably just leave the tuning stock for now I guess. Not worth the gains that were given, the driveability of the car is pretty well the same with stock vs the 91 tune and I don't have 93 to try in my area.

I'd be curious to see back to back dyno pulls. First stock then flash the tune.

Well it all depends on what the 'tune' did, and who designed it.
Some stuff gets sold which really doesn't do much at all.
It would be true one would need to see some dyno pulls with and without to decide if the tune is worth the bother.

If the op did not have an aftermarket air or muffler.. a tune is not going to do a whole lot.

I don't have a dyno sheet or horsepower numbers but I can say that I ran this time with only an air filter and a tune.

Injected offers a refund they posted this a couple time

Tunes are not all about the dynos , The way I do my tuning is

Good idle , good part throttle with gains in low end tq and better midrange , as good as or better MPG then better performance which is the only thing that is going to show on a dyno and where the car is used the least so it isnt always about a 4.5-6 sec pull on a dyno people should base there tune on

This is why I feel datalogging and adjusting to each persons car , mods , how they drive so important

Tom

I would agree that datalogging and actually adjusting for each car is the way to go. Like how if it wasn't canned they could turn off the fan stuff or adjust it in other ways.
