you can get a magna flow on ebay for around $60 and if you check your local muffler shop they should do all the piping and install for around $250 i would imagine.. im going to do this with my F150 and Focus as well.. much cheaper than a bolt on cat backs and better IMO...

There is a bad drone at acceleration but at steady speed you hardly notice. Nice rumble at deacceleration.

since we're all on exhaust... I am a "professional" welder (I get paid but haven't hardly scratched the surface)... why does no one make an exhaust out of aluminum? is it because the ductility changes with heat? I mean considering most grades have a melting point of around 1200* F? I have experiemented with different lunchbox replacements and am pissed at how it sounds. it's too much of a bad sound (though, the downshifts rumble well). Also, why does no one TIG their exhaust, i can get full penetration with out burnthrough like with mig resulting in even less restriction. Also, what's the key to mega deep rumbly goodness?

I am a welder and a former custom exhaust builder. The reason for not using aluminum is a number of reasons. First and foremost oxidation when the temp on aluminum is constantly changed it corrodes faster. Reason number two is it is not as flexible as steel when bent. Aluminum loses allot of its durability when bent and often times splits and cracks. Reason number three with the constant expansion and shrinking of aluminum under heat and cool down it tends to crack break welds and even piping. And under those conditions it is almost impossible to get consistent performance numbers.

New Frankenstein dual exhaust

on this section I came off the bolting flange with an expansion to 2.5 inch pipe. Then installed a 36 inch heartthrob glass pack 2.5 inch inlet and outlet. Then ran 2.5 back through the rear suspension assembly the y-ed it from there

System looks really good!!! One of the best I've seen in a while. Only thing I would add is some black header paint to the muffler section to hide it better, leaving the tips the same of course.
