From what I've been told, they never actually had the supercharger built. It was just a prototype shell, with nothing in it.

It might have been a shell, however I thought I've also heard that when they did testing they couldn't out do the Focus ST at a reasonable cost. Roush was somewhat involved with that development also as they work closely with SVT over in Allen Park.

At any rate it still showed how the blower would fit even if the show car didn't actually have a functioning setup.

I like boost.

I think a system would be hard to design for our high, 12:1 compression motor.

The BRZ has 12.5:1 compression and there are tons of superchargers and turbos out for it. The problem with the supercharger Roush said was just cost. Their car would have cost more than an ST for a 240ish horsepower car.
