Love this engine

I am a new owner of a 2012 Tux Black SE Hatch with 5-speed...been following this forum for a while...this car is amazing for the money built and overall quality is above what I expected

Now to the engine...it is amazing how responsive it is. I've deleted both silencer on the intake..on the bottom of airbox and the front nozzle silencer under the grill couple with 91 octane...and this engine is LIVELY...butter smooth revs with a great sound.

Ran my first tank with 87 and it was ok, once I filled up with 91 responsiveness went to perfection. THIS IS NOT A SPEED DEMON CAR NOR DO I THINK IT...but ford did a great job with this car

Incredible engine. It's lively, powerful enough, and returns great mileage. Add the 5-speed and it's a beautiful combo.

34mpg combined...YES...I am actually glad it is not turbo'ed...the response from a high compression engine on 91 octane is just pure AWESOMENESS...and that manual trans is just perfect...cant wait for the engine mount upgrade...

Went from 91 back down to 87 due to price...puts a damper on the fun factor. Next tank it's back up to 91 for me!

Coming from a maxima, I'm use to having more torque and not needing to downshift. Wish I could've afforded a ST.

My previous car was a 98 3.8 mustang. At times I can feel the two loss but overall the Focus responds much better and actually handles much more smoothly. In traffic the focus is actually faster. This I have proved, though its slower on launch its faster top end. I have done my share of playing in the car you may not approve of it but I have run the little car pretty hard. The focus will run to its 120mph shutoff in 4th gear. (That's not encouragable) I actually played a cat and mouse game with a GTO on the freeway and held my own. Until he got a clean open shot. The car really surprised me, and I haven't received any tickets since I traded in the mustang.
