As its now time for me to buy a new maf tube, I thought I'd chime in. I took care in tightening the filter, but it kept coming off. So id put it back on, just a little tighter each time. now we are at the point that the housing is pinched, but I don't think it's cracked.

I like the hairspray idea. My thought with the new tube was to give the filter side a light sanding. This might give the rubber in the filter something to grab onto.

Any updates on this from k&n?

Well mine cracked recently as well... I called and talked to Troy and he said they are "looking into it" and that I "wouldn't be left in the dark".

Obviously this has been happening for a very long time now and the only real answer I got was; Don't over tighten it.

I've had a similar experience, keep tightening it up a bit more each time, but it still falls off after awhile. I finally wedged a Nerf football between the front of the filter and the plastic in front of it. It keeps the filter from falling off, and I don't have to tighten it so much it breaks the housing. However, as a long time K&N user I am very disappointed in this kit, and unless they come up with a fix I will likely look elsewhere next time.

I don't get it. I had mine on for over 15K miles and it never once fell off.

Is yours different from the pictures on here just a thought. Maybe they should just update to aluminum MAF like Steeda and ship them out.

It's been almost a year. I don't think anything is being done about the problem. I've learned to just keep an eye on the filter and to feel if the car revs differently, indicating the filter has fallen off again. Haven't had much trouble with it though.
