Thanks! I sent the guy a PM. I would like to try the dampers too, but I am unsure of the mileage (you never know). If these work, which they should, it will give us all a nice alternative...

Just put another 15-20 miles on the MS3 RMM with CS inserts and I'm still loving it. Everything is so much more crisp. The car is 10x more enjoyable if you can handle the vibes.

Agreed.

I started doing some research to see whether MZ3/MS3 and Volvo C30 dampers would fit our cars, but I'm currently sidelined with a wrist injury and unable to work on my car and take measurements to see what will fit.

With the rear shocks, there seems to be a difference in the lower mounting bolt and it's size, depending on the year of the MZ3/MS3.

Here are Koni part numbers for the aformentioned vehicles:
MZ3 ('09)
Front: 8741-1487LSport & RSport
Rear: 8040-1350Sport

MZ3 ('10+)
Front: 8741-1487LSport & RSport
Rear: 8040-1351Sport

MS3 ('07-09)
Front: 8741-1490LSport & RSport
Rear: 8040-1354Sport

MS3 ('10-11)
Front: 8741-1490LSport & RSport
Rear: 8040-1353Sport

C30 ('09+)
Front: 8741-1490LSport & RSport
Rear: 8040-1351Sport (Same as '10+ MZ3)

Also, for critical strut measurements from a Koni C30 front strut, see here: http://c30world.com/forums/showpost....3&postcount=24

We might want to start a new thread for this, though.

I would probably stay away from OEM MZ3 parts... I can't really see them as being much of an upgrade over what we already have. The MS3 parts could provide potential however.

Yeah, I would advise against using OEM shocks/struts also. Lots of blown struts/shocks on the MS3 forums.

I have heard of a lot of Gen Juan MS3's blowing shocks but I have no heard as many accounts of the GenPu's having this problem.

Good call though, I would definitely steer clear of Gen Juan's dampeners though.

That would be sweet if any of these parts would fit from the MS3 because I just saw some awsome H&R coilovers on Edge Autosports website that would look good on my car.

The guys at Edge Autosports are great to work with. If you ask nicely, they may provide some dimensions for you to hopefully determine fitment prior to making the $1k+ investment.

PS I love how this has turned into the 'what parts can we steal for the MS3' thread.

Thumbs up

I got the MS3 springs. Hope they come soon so I can try them. I am trying to go subtle with this car since it is my DD and I spend a lot of time in it. From my previous MS3 experience, the springs should stiffen things up without going overboard and even provide a slight drop. I figure the stock dampers can handle them for now since they seem to be working will for those who have purchased FRPP and Eibach springs. When some better aftermarket ones come available, I will go that route. Or see if I can get a discount at the local Ford dealer and get some Ti handling package dampers.
