Here is the goal. Get the air flow in and get the air flow out better/faster. Which equals hp. When u don't have to stress the motor as much that's where the mpgs come in. From nitro r/c cars to suvs and even big rigs its the same concept.

They onle affect the warranty on the parts you touch, like the intake voids the warranty on the air intake and exhaust ect. BUT if the air intake s with something enough and brakes engine parts or blows away the Mass airflow sensor then that gets voided as well. If anything were to brake, just keep the stock parts and put them back on before bringing it in for service, dont weld the exhaust in for a bit and the air intake should be simple anyways.

I have a 2012 focus 5 door installed a FSWerks Intake kit a Magnaflow Cat Back exhaust and I am getting better gas mileage as long as I cruise and not race around town. Plus the setup is very quiet unless you get on it then the 2.0 beast sounds mean.

When I upgraded my exhaust to a free flowing 2.5 in mandrel bent piece of awesomeness, I jumped like 2-3 miles per gallon average on my 42 mile trip to work that day. Now when I added my k&n intake to the mix it pretty much stayed the same as my old box with a drop in and snorkel delete with said exhaust. Now when I got rid of my 16" steelies and upgraded to my new motegi 18" wheels... Dropped like 2 miles per gallon, more weight and rolling resistance. So, take this knowledge and go out into the world my son... Your welcome
