Cosworth/Escape oil cooler

Does anyone have this oil cooler installed? I have one and am trying to figure out the best way to splice it into the water system.

I think I spliced mine into the bypass/heater return hose that exits on the top of the thermostat housing.

If you want water to cool the oil that is the wrong thing to do. That hose has very little flow in it.

It actually works really well. After installing an Escape oil cooler, my oil temps came way down on the track.

And sorry, I don't have any pictures anymore.

Then it would really work when right. That line actually dribbles so small an amount of fluid you could spit more than it puts out. Look at the output with a new clean coolant tank. The hose is restricted to about a 1/16" hole.

This is on a zetec 2.0...............

Why are you giving Zetec advice on a Duratec?

The hose I am referring to is close to 1/2" in diameter.

I forgot I had Cosworth's directions on my site.

My bad, don't know what I was thinking............I apologize to any that got the wrong idea.

It DOES look from that diagram though as if the 'bypass' hose is smaller than the 'heater return', sorry, couldn't leave that alone LOL.

Somebody please kick me. Sure wish I had one of those motors in mine...............
