fs werks race vs. stealth exhaust

So i was listening to the sound clips of the exhausts and i noticed that its on a 2008 focus. just wondering if the sound the same on a 2005 focus st. Id also like to get the opinion of some owners as well. to me it seems like the stealth is too quiet and the race is too loud. What do you guys think? im installing my steeda intake tomorrow and i heard that those can be decently loud as well...any opinions would help

The intake is mostly only loud when you get on the gas. It's a deep tone, sounds great. I have the FSWerks street exhaust, which according to FSWerks is quieter than the stealth. The street exhaust masks the sounds of the intake while driving (you can still hear it sucking air on a cold start). If I had a dash cam or something I'd be inclined to do some WOT pulls so you could hear it. On the plus side, I think I'm seeing modest gains in fuel economy from the mods.

Although I must admit I do not currently have either exhaust, I've always understood it to be like this:

If all you're doing is adding an intake and exhaust, go with the Race for the louder vroom as it will not be too overly loud, but you'll still turn heads in a big way.

If you're getting the intake, exhaust, AND header, then unless you want your car to be the loudest vehicle in town, get the stealth.

But if you just want a nice moderately loud car, just go with the intake and stealth exhaust. It'll till sound a lot better than stock.

go stealth...

I ran a race like set up for about a week and my wife drove me crazy about the noise. I was in denial about installing a res becuase it would mellow it down too much but i was wrong... it just refined it to perfection

125db.

Stealth is the way to go. I like mine without the cats. Not too loud and just enough loud to say I am here. The race is very aggressive and is definitely LOUD. But so is my mustang LOL. Its your choice. I would say go stealth if its quiet....but race if your looking to turn heads and sound mean.

Are you going to add a header now or down the road? If so get the stealth.

Stealthx3 it doesn't hurt performance either way. Ull love the race for a month then hate it lol. U can buy the interchangable mid pipe from stealth to race in 15 min so order stealth and pick up the used race pipe that's for sale right now in the bst forum
