Converter question

I believe my converter is starting to go bad. What would you reccomend? Replace it or run strait pipe? I have a wideband and it doesn't register right at idel so I'm thinking it might have something to do with the converter. Also have a header and programmer

Can't guess just what you've got bolted up from the description. Are you saying that you have an aftermarket header installed with a CAT behind it?

Where is the stock O2 and Wideband plumbed in? Any second O2 in use?

Yes aftermarket header, and the cat that's on it doesn't look factory. The wideband is between the header and cat. All factory O2 sensors are there I believe Bc I don't have a check engine light on. I bought the car like this beside the wideband and programmer

I wouldn't except the cat to be down yet since it is aftermarket it was likely installed fairly recently <3 years? just a guess tho you might know how old it actually is. A tune would remove the rear 02 sensor code if there is not one plugged in. Easy to go under and check it out. Do you know who did your tune?

I've ibly had the car a year, so don't know how old the cat is. Program was done by Tom but it's just a basic tune since I don't have a computer to do anything with to show how the car runs.

Its your tune. His base tune is your problem. You need to get a computer and datalog. Both tunes i've had from him the base is always rough idling a bit usually a little high. But after some sessions of datalog it goes back to perfect.

Your up stream o2 sensor should be in the header collector & possibly the down stream o2 sensor is either after the convertor or deleted thru the tune which would not show a cel on.

So would be better to run with out the tune until I get a computer? And take the converter out or no?

leave it as is. Keep the tune on there since it will be better than the oem one since you have a header. You have a wideband you can watch to make sure you are not going lean.
