Instructions For Cosworth BS Delete Kit...

Following are the instructions for the installation of the Cosworth BS Delete kit. These were emailed to me yesterday from Ken Anderson of Cosworth. Basically the same as MM installation instructions. If you go to thier web site, you can down load them. There are more specific instructions there regarding the correct trq measurements when reinstalling the oil pan, more than likely taken from the below mentioned Fod Focus Shop maual. Anyway, here they are.....

Part Number :KK3484

Application: 2003-2005 Ford Focus

2.3L Duratec I4 (PZEV)

2003-2006 Mazda 3 and 6

To properly install this part, you MUST have access to a genuine Ford Focus Shop manual. The correct manual is available from Helm Publishing

(800-782-4356). Part #FCS-12949-04

1. The Cosworth Balance shaft delete kit is designed to block off the oil passage to the balance shaft assembly when the balance shaft assembly is removed from the engine.

2. Following the instructions in the factory shop manual, remove the oil pan from the vehicle.

3. Remove the oil pick up to allow access to the balance shaft assembly.

4. Remove 4 x 10mm bolts that hold the balance shaft assembly from the block. Use caution as the balance shaft assembly is heavy.

5. Place the Cosworth Balance shaft delete plate with the o-ringed bung into the oil supply port used by the balance shaft assembly.

6. Use a small amount of Red Loctite on the attachment bolt and secure the plate to the block.

The bolt should be torqued to 18 ft/lbs.

7. Reinstall the oil pickup tube and torque to 8-10 ft/lbs.

8. Reinstall the oil pan using a factory recommended sealant.
