Auto trans ?

I got 81k on my new wagon love it but need to find out wiring for o/d button. Light comes on on dash when turn key to on but the button does not turn o/d off, anyone have wiring diagram or know where to look. Now the other ? If I'm cruising and mash on pedal sometimes it bangs gears hard. Usually 2-3rd sometimes 1-2nd is that solenoid controlled? I changed out fluid and filter with MercronV and flushed cooler at 61k plan on doing again before vacation. If I need to change out solenoid or do continuity check with o/d circuit that's going to be time $7 a quart for mercY. If anyone could give me assistance I'd appreciate it. Thanks again

Since your post says nothing of the "fix" I can only assume here.

If it is like on my car, the OD button may simple be unplugged. I say that as for a while the shifter handle on my car was loose (wiggled on the shaft) but one day when shifting between gears it came off and after that the OD button no longer functioned. My guess is that it simply came unplugged when the handle came flying up, however I have not yet torn into my car to find the exact issue.

With that said, to anybody who's auto shifter handle is loose on the shifter shaft, tighten up the lock screw, only takes a minute and can safe you trouble down the road. Need the right sized allen head driver to tighten it.

Ha

Sorry the A@$hole who rebuilt my car got bags out of leather package also grabbed the shifter which he ripped out including wires. Dug surround a bit spliced some new wires added some glue shrink and another splice group. Hmmmm back in business. Couldn't see the connection from drivers seat it's on the passenger side. Thanks
