Buying an engine mount

Okay, so I believe it is time for a new engine mount in my 23d. I'm talking about the one that sits over the belt system.

What I've noticed when looking at engine mounts at local stores and online is that it only comes with the rubber disk part of the mount, the part that bolts to the engine. The "A" part, as I call it, that bolts to the frame of the car, is always missing. What gives with this? How does one use one of those that only comes with the disk part?

Get a Motorcraft/ford one or go w/ a poly one only. Don't use any aftermarket oem mounts,,,,,,those are garbage,,,,,,,& you'll be redoing it later.

There are a few of those partial mounts at very cheap prices showing up recently, little similarity to stock as Felix mentioned.

Often when looking at parts a Generic picture will come up for the zetec mounts that appear as you describe as well, not the duratec one they're actually selling.

Where are the list of vendors? I noticed the "Vender Discussion" boards, that's the only ones I see.

Does Village Ford give good prices? They're actually about 30 minutes from me.

They're a discount mail order source, and you can sign up for an FF discount (info. in their section).

Check with Village Andy through the info there, I'd think they'd also offer over the counter discounts from list.

Okay.

I've been seeing listings for the engine mount for both automatic and manual transmissions. Is there even a difference? it looks like the same mount.

Also, I've been seeing 2.0L mounts for 2005 and up that look the same, at least from the pictures I've seen. They tend to be the whole mount (not just the rubber disk part) and tend to be cheaper. But I'm assuming there must be a difference.

And 2.0 mounts won't work, engine height is changed between the two (different stroke, taller block for 2.3) just enough to make them not interchangeable.
