2005 ST mpg disappointment

So I just bought my buddies 05 ST (Steeda SRI, SVT springs) and I haven't gotten better than 25.6mpg's since I been driving it.

Is this common with with anybody else's ST? I have an 04 SVT also that I autocross with full bolt ons and get better than 25mpgs even on race days.

I was expecting 30mpgs at least….any suggestions?

Hey Doug

I get low 30's on the freeway with mine, and middle to high 20's on my daily commute.

How many miles, and when was the last tune up?

are you talking city, highway or combined? seems low for "normal" highway driving.

Mid twenties is what I get on mine so I'd say it's about right. I don't really have much highway miles though...90% city driving or stop and go.

I get over 400 miles to a tank on the freeway & 260-300 whipping around. There are a few things you can do for mpg & power.

When I had my 05 ST, I averaged at least 30 most days on the highway. But I was also driving 55-65mph on average. On one trip, over about 150 miles each way, I got 40mpg.

Maybe a difference in driving style? speed?

With the 04 SVTF I just bought! I've been getting about 30mpg at a 72mph average in 20 degree or below weather.

Hey guys not exactly sure when a full "tune up" was done, I'll have to ask the PO as he is my friend/a member on here.

My driving style with this is about 70% highway of driving low 70mph and I always even shift around 3000rpm to try and squeeze the mpgs out. I don't beat on this at all because its my DD and I have my SVT to do that!
