magnaflow catback

so, the rear hanger on my 04 just rusted off, and my system is floppin like a fish over bumps. I want to replace the catback, as the whole thing looks bad. I looked at fswerks and magnaflow. the stealth kit was $439 for my sedan. the street was a little cheaper. I went to the magnaflow site, and listened to the sound clips, and it didn't sound bad at all. I ordered it from performance peddler and got it for $393 shipped. I just got off you tube, and all the user posted vids make it sound ricey, which is NOT what I want. am I in trouble here?

Well most youtube videos are taken using low quality phones/cameras with lousy microphones. Really hard to tell how an exhaust will sound when played back through tiny computer or phone speakers too. I have the FSWerks stealth but i can say it doesnt sound like most videos I've heard.

Most like FSWerks because their fitment is just about perfect and the sound is reasonable, thats all I really ask for my exhaust needs You should be fine with the magnaflow as far as sound goes.

I have the FSWerks race exhaust on my 05 sedan and it sounds amazing. Nice deep aggressive tone, unlike a raspy import. Those YouTube videos do it no justice because you can't really capture the real audio in a shitty compressed video. I'm actually getting a lot better gas mileage now too. I must warn you though the race exhaust is loud, buy its not annoying loud. A perfect pair with the FSWerks cold air intake.

i couldnt have beaten that price!!!!!!!

I have a custom magnaflow exhaust with a resonator instead of a cat. After 3000RPM at WOT...the tone completely changes...its loud...really loud. Daily driving, its a pretty deep tone for a 4cyl

Just to add, the 23 will have a deeper tone then a 20.

I'm interested in how it sounds. I have had Magna flow exhausts in the past and really likes them but those were Turbo 6 and V8 vehicles.

The problem with YouTube is most of the cameras people use have microphones set on auto. So as soon as it gets loud the mic throttles back the sensitivity and when the exhaust is quiet it increases it. That makes the idle sound unnaturally loud and the revs sound unnaturally quiet.
