Why not buy a used FSwerks system from the buy/sell section? Both of my CAI intakes came from there, haven't spent over $100 on either of them.

There's no safety buying from people on here. But I'm taking to a guy right now about his fswerks cai. Ill give it a shot and hope it's not a scam

There is no safety from buying anything from anyone....

If you pay someone with Paypal NEVER send the money as a gift. Always send as purchase of goods and add the fees in. Then your covered as Paypal will refund your money if something is wrong.

The moderators also keep close tabs on bad transactions and take appropriate action when necessary.

Almost every part I've ever bought for my car has been from this site, used. Wheels, Intakes and even my Turbo kit was purchased off this site from a fellow focus owner (My turbo kit came from Canada). Most people on this site are not out to scam you. Check the sellers reviews, ask questions and just use common sense when buying something.

Everyone here seems legit from the pictures and most have a good rep. I just like how ebays setup is, i feel more safe buying from there. i actually found a Typhoon cai on ebay for 100$ it was a showcase model. said it had minor scratches. i dont drive a expensie car so im not to worried about it.

Thanks for all the info guys :)

Ebay is 10 times as risky as here. I love Ebay, but there is plenty of scams there as well. People here dont want to screw with you.

I did the stealth cai on my foci and love it. I would recommend it, especially if cash is tight. So far, no issues period with water. I think I'm actually doing better since I'm not breathing from right by the windshield, which collects plenty of snow.

This.

That's not to say it would never happen.....bought a K&N FIPK from a guy on FJ with some other stuff and it came with a cheap Sceptre filter instead of a K&N. Didn't know because he only showed pics with the K&N water cover on it I mentioned earlier. When I contacted him he said I could just ship everything back and get my money back. Since I got a header with the FIPK and an unlocked SCT it would have cost more to ship back than just buying a K&N replacement. Never had any issues here on FF though and I've bought plenty of stuff. My theory is I would rather buy used off here and help a community member than some guy on ebay I could care less about. We are all here to help each other out. :)

Exactly. I have never seen someone post before this thread saying they hydrolocked with the stealth mod and its 10x better than the fancy SRIs that some people run; its truly a CAI. I only switched to the FIPK because I got a good deal on it when I bought some other upgrades from the same person and because I hate how ugly the factory box is. On a budget I would just buy a K&N filter and do the stealth and take the money I saved and put it into a BSD and get more bang for my buck.

One more thing......no matter what route you go, buy a K&N cleaning kit and use it every time you change your oil. Your car will thank you.

i was just about to do the stealth untill i seen the typhoon cai on ebay. I read everything they have to say about the product before i even think of buying, then i ask a hand full of questions. and as long as it seems legit and has plenty of pictures of it ill buy it.
When i was looking where the cai was gunna sit on my car it looks like its gunna suck water from driving. theres just a peice of metal where the cones going to be. but im sure everythings going to be fine :)
