I'd love to found a horizonal filter mount in place of the stock verticle mount.

Why would a horizontally mounted filter be better than the stock vertical mount, I'm genuinely curious if there are advantages there. FWIW I've heard and seen some evidence that Wix makes the best filters in the business, although I fail to recall right now exactly why I got that impression. I'd like to sometime do an oil analysis near the change interval to get a better picture of how the oil is performing and general engine health, for now I really just go by how it looks, and I've found as long as I keep changes near 3K miles it always looks near new, which I interpret as the filter is still doing it's job. By no means scientific, but this isn't a racecar.

BTW, I just browse active topics and your thread came up, I pop into different sub forums when curious.
