I have found a 2001 2.3L Zx3 for a family member and I'm guessing it's a PZEV. I was wondering what the difference in performance between a 2001 2.3L PZEV and a 2.0 L zetec is? Does it have more power?
To the best of my knowledge there was no Focus 2.3Litre Duratec in 2001 Pzev or otherwise... It was released on a preliminary basis in 2003 and came standard in the Green States ie Mass.
first 2.3l duratecs to hit america was in 2003, they are a much better platform than the zetec, more hp and tq stock and they respond much better to mods due to the restrictive emissions parts
That's weird cause on the sticker it says 2001 and that it is a 2.3L. I don't know if it's PZEV or something else. Also the car is at a Subaru and Audi dealership and they have a pretty good rep when it comes to used cars.
if it is a 2001 it is not a 2.3, look under the hood itll say zetec on the valve cover and the cover will be black, the duratecs have a mag valve cover thats blank, and a coil on plug ignition
