throttle body

I bought a k&n 57-2559 for my 05 focus 2.0. It said it would fit the 2.0, but I think it was meant for the 2.3. Where the intake meets the throttle body there is about a 1/4" difference in diameter, I think 3.0" on the intake and 2.75" on the car. I was just going to buy a cheap rubber reducing adapter, but I was wondering if the throttle body from a 2.3l ( I'm guess is 3" ) would fit on a 2.0l?
That way the intake would fit, and the car could breathe a bit easier.

Would that be a bad idea even if it does fit?

Thanks

Same thing here as Cruzstyle. I have the same intake and had no trouble with the installation (I had more trouble getting the splash guard off). Aslo, I bought the cfm tb and it fits perfectly.

As far as the other stuff. I looked in the cfm site and the tb that I bought is supposed to fit the 2.3 also.

Return the cai to the store and get the right one.

the only parts that cannot be swapped between the 2.0 and 2.3 are the pistons... and rods and crank shafts... and some other minor stuff..

the CAI is the same for either engine... put a light film of wd-40 or the like... something that'll burn off... and then slip it on.

A reducer is best. Don't waste your money on a TB that is the same as the one you already have.

the zetec has an oposite layout of the duratec so the CAI CANNOT be for a duratec and a zetec.

I went back and found the receipt for the intake, and it i s 63-1101 FIPK, NOT the 57-2559 that I probably should have bought. If I remember correctly, I bought one of the last couple 63's because they were $75 cheaper than the 57 series. Can't even find the specs or vehicle applications list from k&n for the 63-1101, but another site says it is for a Ford Focus 2003-05 2.3L L4 F/I.

I guess that is why I thought a 2.3l throttle body would be 3" dia.

oh well still doesn't change anything, I'll just buy a reducer, but I wonder what foci the 63-1101 actually fits on.

btw, does anybody know of a header for the 05 focus 2.0 duratec? All I can find are zetec headers. wtf?

f2focus and cosworth are the only 2 makers of a header right now for the duratec.
