ST vs golf GTI

messing round in HP and this goldish golf was blowing off at EVERYBODY....gahh.. i like turbos but that just annoys me when people do that..i tried to get beside him but couldnt most of the night.Well i went to get gas and when i pulled out, i heard.. PSHHH... finally i got beside him. The light changed and we both took off kinda slow until around 35 when he made the move. He got alittle bit of a headstart but i made it up and i pulled alittle bit in front til mid third gear(dont know how fast i was going.. didnt really look) next light is red and he asks what done and i tell him just intake and catback exhaust. much to my dismay he doesnt believe me. He said hes never raced a focus that has ran with him before. he asked if i wanted to do a highway run. I oblige and turn around towards the highway... from a 60 roll it was about even til around 85 he pulled slighty and around 110 he was around 3/4 car ahead... we get back to town and he wants to see my engine.. i let him look at it and he touchs my intake and says"thats awfully cold, you much be spraying!" i said no and showed him my trunk to show no bottle just 2 chairs a stanley tool set and a bin that consists of a football,basketball and some xmen comics(in hard plastic).. after that he didnt blow off as much..

Sounds like you stopped that mans fun. LOL. This reminds me of when I was at In-N-Out burger last night and 2 count em 2 SRT-horrors were revving so fatty trying to show off their turbo. Sounded quite kewl but come on its just a DODGE.

nice, you would have kept with him if you didn't have all that ish in your trunk. My buddies got a 2002 gti vr6 that i can dust light to light. But those VW's have gearing for the autobon so they just take off on the highways.

Here's what mommy should have told you to do when you downshift:
1. Step on the clutch
2. Simultaneously slide the shifter into a lower gear and give the throttle a quick, amazingly precise jab to rev the engine to exactly the rpm it needs to be at in the next gear
3. Quickly let out the clutch

Oh sure, It takes a few thousand tries before you get the timing and precision of your jab just right, but the reward is that you no longer suck.

idk... im going back to HP without all the stuff in there.. ill look for him again i wish my car wouldnt cut off at 120 cause that way i wanna see what it COULD do.....im still looking for a svt to go down the higway with. i ran 1 at the 1/8 mile track and beat him even with my 2.3 60' time to his 2.1 it was 10.001 to his 10.213

I have a 1.8t jetta gli and I kinda believe that to a certain point. I can believe the 0-60 area. But after we hit 70 this car doesn't stop, it keeps going all the way up to 145 without any problems. Infact if a 1.8t is chipped, it adds another 40hp and 60 torque on average. I had a 6 hour trial of a reflash on my computer and I couldn't stop blasting my tires 1-3. All and all, i must say i'm impressed with those few mods you can keep up with a 1.8turbo.
