My first 1/4mile runs- Stock 00 ZX3 5spd 4/2/10

This was my first time at the track running a Focus. Although I'm posting this in the DRAG RACING section, I wasn't really racing. I was just getting some base runs. It was my 2000 ZX3 5spd zetec with 68,000miles on her, 100% stock from airbox to tailpipe, spare tire & all including a FULL tank of gas(only 16miles on the tank). Had a lot of Fun! Ran it 3 times. I'm car #20 on the timeslips.

Run #1 (interesting note: the guy I ran against was driving a 2008 Focus 2.0L Duratec Automatic, He never ran faster than a 17.0 all night)

60ft- 2.646
330ft- 7.134
1/8et- 10.860
1/8mph- 66.46
1/4et- 16.849
1/4mph- 81.39

Run #2 (fastest run)

60ft- 2.620
330ft- 7.096
1/8et- 10.813
1/8mph- 66.41
1/4et- 16.778
1/4mph- 81.58

Run #3

60ft- 2.599
330ft- 7.126
1/8et- 10.861
1/8mph- 65.97

1/4mph- 80.75

Nice runs! It can be very addictive!

Heck yeah! I just wish the track wasn't two hours away

hey not bad times for being all stock...a few mods and you'll be in 15s in no time

I remember the first time I took my Dodge Shadow to the track. Im kinda happy since you posted that an 08 auto car ran 17.0's I might get 16.2's cause I kinda drive my cars hard.

I think you'll be surprised at what little mods can do. I've only made 3 passes in my car and my best was a 15.3. It doesn't really take much to wake these cars up. Free flowing panel air filter, full exhaust and maybe a tune and you're close to a 15's. Drop some weight and you can be a little quicker. Add good suspension and even better.
Not fast by any means but taking almost a second of the 1/4 time does make the car more fun.

ya i went to the track once and all i had was an intake and muffler and turned a 16.351

hey, do you need a helmet to drag at the strips?

MisterJohnson 04-22-2010 09:43 AM

^^Usually only if you run quicker than 14 seconds (it depends on the track)

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:39 AM.
