I did 16.63 at napierville, quebec, with a k&n sri, shorty headers and custom-made catback. This night was my first time ever on the strip so I began the night with times as high as 17.6, due to unecessary wheelspin loll

So, I finally went to the drags this past Saturday (the official season opener; all the time equipment was working, etc) and althought I didn't take my car out, I went out with my brother and his band of ricer buddies. Out of them all, my brother's car was the fastest of his group, and let me tell you, his car is fast! But when he actually got up to the line and made the run, his best time was 15.6 on the 1/4 mile. Ok, so after seeing that, I sat there scratching my head. How could he only net a 15.6 with an Integra GSR that's pretty heavily mod'd? I figured he'd do at least a 14.5 or something like that.

Which brings me to my next question.... from the information I've gathered on here, people are telling me that with my ZX4 Sedan Duratec 2.0L ATX, with a CAI/67mm TB/4-1 Header/Flexpipe/Stealth Exhaust/Tune/Lower Engine Torque Mount, I'll be able to do mid-15s no problem. Is this accurate? Because if that's the case, then I'll be able to either keep up with my brother completely, or beat him from here on out, and that's something I never expected. As it is now, he's a good bit faster than I am, so do you guys really think the mods I listed above will get me into the mid-15 range?

I mean, I don't want to put all that stuff on and then come to reaslise that I'm only able to do like 16.8s. That would totally suck and ruin my day.

If I had to guess what I'm running now, I'd probably say mid-high-17s. So I hope I'll eventually break into the 15s after this. Then from there, my ultimate goal is the 14s, but I don't expect to hit that until much later and more mods.

What's the best way to get traction off the line in an ATX? The place I normally launch from (simultaniously holding the brake while stepping on the gas, then letting off the brake as I floor it) is from 2000 RPMs. I usually get a small amount of tire spin off the line as things are now, but with these new mods and the additional power, I anticipate a lot more tire spin. So without touching my suspenion or adding anything to it (because I'll have to save for that, and that wont come til probably next year) what can I do to get as little tire spin as possible? Launch at lower RPMs, like maybe 1500? Or what? Should I just keep my foot off the gas until the light turns green, and then from there, just STOMP on the gas?

Drag radials or slicks if you have traction probs. Not really sure on an auto how big of a prob traction will be. I was launching at 3500 rpm's with a manual.
