Stock head unit, components + aftermarket amp?
First post, so bear with me if I'm asking something that's been covered.
I just picked up a 2014 Focus HB, and noticed that the sound it puts out is less than desirable. It currently has the 6 speaker, non-Sony set up. Based on some of the posts I've seen, it appears that the stock speakers aren't bad, just underpowered.
Now I have a 5x400 watt rms amp from another car, and was wondering if it would be possible to hook the amp to the components using the stock wiring harness. Also, seeing as this amp is a little dated and bulky, is there a newer model anyone would recommend that mimics the OEM amp that's available from the factory? Would it be possible to mount a smaller amp in the doors/dash/trim where this one is typically placed?
Thanks for the help!
