I was wondering if anyone Installed these items into a 2013 focus. If so I would like to know what you did to install these, because I took off my door panel to look at what i was working with and it looks like ford put some dampening material in the doors, or is that stuff crap and i should rip that stuff out. I also noticed that there is not a really good surface for the fast rings around the speaker. If you could tell/show me how you installed these, that would be awesome!
Those rings are really for a different size speaker than stock to seal them to the portion of the grill they use, or for ones with a large space between speaker & door card/grill to direct all the sound through the grill.
I just installed a set of FAST rings in my '13 Focus. I have Infinity REF-6502 components up front and also a ton of CLD in the doors. Currently running off HU power only. I could not control the resonance and buzzing from the door panels at all, no matter how much CLD tiles I used. I bought the FAST rings, and only used the inner ring as the outer ring as that's all that would fit. But it made a great seal from the speaker to the door panel, it really pushed the sound through the panel better. It eliminated most of my buzzing and vibration issues.
I do believe it needs to be used in conjunction with CLD tiles to get the full effect however, I think FAST rings themselves won't eliminate all the problems of adding capable speakers into the stock location.
