car will not!!!

I installed a amp under the passanger seat and when i was installing it my car started fine. But when i was all said and done i wanted to go for a little drive and when i pulled out everything seemed fine then i went to put it in 1st and it stalled out. I started it again and the rmps were really stuttery so i too the fuse out for both of my amps and tried to start it again well it didn't. It turns over but does not start. I smelled a faint hint of something burning but i checked and nothing was, all ok. All power in the car works. when i had the amp under the seat the power and ground cables were against the sliding bar of the seat... i do not think that would affect it but just letting you know. As far as i rember the sound played when i backed out. This is really weird and my dad and i have no clue where to start looking. This is my daily driver and i need it for school so help a fellow foci owner out
thank you

That sounds really wierd. How big of an amp is it? Maybe it's putting too much load on your alternator?

it sounds more like a fuel delivery problem than a battery voltage problem. where did you run your wiring? the reason why i ask is (and a story to boot) -- i have no kickpanels in my focus at the moment, and one day i was with my g/f, and she inadvertantly kicked the harness off the 'fuel pump shut down' device in the passenger foot well... ... well, i didn't know that, and my car started to shut down on me doing about 40mph... first it was sputtering... then died... while driving. all my power options worked fine... the car would turn over, but not catch... needless to say, after about 10 minutes, i saw the problem :)

good luck, and hopefully its something simple.
