Aftermarket radio

I got this radio http://www.happyshoppinglife.com/201...bus-p-842.html and installed but it wouldn't turn on, like there's no power to the head unit. Anyone else have this or similar? Did I do something wrong?

Moved to the Car Audio section.

Maybe here you'll get a response from someone who installed the same or similar complete replacement unit.

First, those Chinese generic factory replacement aren't known for quality. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was DOA.

Second, they're suppose to be plug and play. So if it ain't turning on, check your fuses?

The factory radio does not have a +12V on/off ignition wire back there, like all aftermarket radios use. The factory radio turns on/off via a data signal on the CANBUS. However, this unit claims it's able to read that and use it to turn on/off. Which doesn't surprise me, but apparently something ain't working right. There's really not much you can do man. I think the CAN reader part is all built right into the unit. There's no way you could meter to ensure it's getting the +12V ignition trigger it needs to turn on/off. All you can do is ensure you're getting the +12V constant voltage in. If not, the fuse is likely blown.

Did you try reinstalling the factory deck to see if it powers up?
