SVT: Kicker Comp RT 8" in Audiophile Factory Box?
I tried fitting this in the factory 8" enclosure but its definitely too small, i.e. there is a lot of wiggle room. Can I make a spacer or template to accommodate?
How does one seal of the hole for the screw the hold the woofer in place from behind? Plug? Hot Glue? Epoxy? Bolt and washer?
I am going to power the 400W RMS 1 ohm woofer with my Kenwood Excelon 500x1 amp so it should be perfect, as the dude at Car Toys wired it up at 2 ohms so it SHOULD sound pretty nice!
Anything else I should do for the box i.e. seal the seams with caulk or something similar? It's plastic so I can't assume its the best thing for a high-powered 8". Would a wood box have better SQ? If everyone suggests making a box, that's fine I just need a write up!
Any help would be appreciated!
