major GEM problems at least I think

The head unit keeps cycling off and on by itself I'm not on a factory headunit and ths just started happening.......I know these cars have RAP retained accessory power and it shuts off when you open the door.....well that doesn't happen it shuts off almost right away without me doing anything. Also when the head unit cycles the amps stay on....now bear in mind I didn't just install the system it's been in there for 4 years or so. I don't think it's a voltage problem because I'm showing 13.5 at the front.....if the back battery was draining it down wouldn't it be showing less? I've also been experiencing some dome light problems...the switch has to be all the way up for the lights to turn off or on without the dimmer switch up all the waythe lights won't turn on.

Well I assume you have a couple amps if you are running 2 batteries which it sounds like you are. What RMS are pushing? Your alt could be going out if you have been pushing it hard for 4 years. I'd start with a test there. Have you done the Big 3 upgrade?

Well I'm not an electrician so I don't really know but I feel if you are charging 2 batteries you are putting more strain on the system. Try unhooking your rear battery and running your car for a bit and see if it changes. not much help past that tho. I've never dealt with a multi-battery build.
