12v power through A Pillar ( 2007 ST )

I want to put a 12v adapter (cigarette lighter thing) in my A pillar so I can put a phone charger in there. I hate having cords running all over the place. I keep my phone on a mount next to the pillar by the dash and love to just have a small section of the cord coming out of the pillar.

Is there a 12 power line in the pillar I can splice? Should I run a completely new power line up there? Can I tap into the existing cigarette lighter and run that up there?

Thanks for any help!

If you're really going to do this, I suggest just installing a USB power port there. Not an entire +12V cigarette lighter port. Something like this.

You can probably find a flush mount female USB port pretty easily, but many of them just have a length of cord and a male USB plug on the other end. You could always cut the male end off and wire the red wire to +5VDC and the black to ground. Then a simple +12V to +5V adapter (very easy and cheap to find) would be all you need, which can all be connected under the dash/wherever.

Whatever route you choose. Whatever you find easier/cheaper.
