Replacing capacitor (identifying markings)

This isn't exactly car audio...but the theory should still work and it's still an amplifier...

My band's power amp blew a capacitor. It's a ceramic disc style, with markings "104 250v". I'm trying to source a new cap locally and want to know the specs of this so I can get a new one. I get the 250v part, but what does the 104 signify? A quick google search shows it to mean it's rated for .10uF, but I'd like to check before I go and install these...

Also, I hear it's safe to go with a higher voltage rating with the new cap...this true? I found a cap locally that appears to work (assuming I deciphered the code correctly) but it's rated for 1kV instead of 250v.

Yeah, that's a .10uF rated at 250V. The disc caps do not tend to be polar sensitive as many electrolytic caps are so it shouldn't matter which way you hook it up, but probably best to match it up anyway.
