MK1 Double Din

How's it. I'm looking for some help with installing an Alpine double din in my '01 Wagon. Is it as easy as any other audio install or am I gonna have to mod the center piece. Pics are nice too. Thanks!

Just buy a double din install kit and no modding is necessary

Well the opening isn't a true double din (I believe it's around 1.8), so yes you would have to do some modification to make it fit. There are quite a few threads on here of people doing custom work and outlining what all they had done. I'll look around and see if I can dig some up.

EDIT: Here ya go: HOW-TO: make all the stock SVT stuff work with aftermarket radio!

Dizle was technically right, I didn't even know they made the double DIN adapter for the MK1! Sweet, good to know!
