Thank you to all of you who are helping me with this problem.

and just to reiterate, the Camera is powered by the lockpick, and the light and trunk button are powered by the stock power supply but it is an all in one unit.
I had a problem like that with the second camera after the first failed. I disconnected the power cable to the lockpick and powered the camera from the backup light instead. It all works great now.

Okay gang, I got a PM from a Fanatic asking if I figured out the issue with the blinking. I sent him the following, the upshot of which is I can't stand behind the camera anymore. When it works, it works great but it is unreliable. "Sorry Jack but I never did figure it out. My first camera (I had issues with it) did not do that and my second one did but it stopped doing it when I direct connected it to my backup lights (I have a sedan so it's a bit simpler to do this than with a hatch) it stopped. I still don't know what the issue was and mine blinked slower than the one in the recent post. I am looking for a different camera right now and may even switch to an OEM unit as I've been having other issues - it works fine when I back out of my garage and if it's parked out of the direct sunlight but if it sits in the sun for a while, it is too dark to see and it sometime rolls and then stops working all together. It looked great and the price was super but I'm beginning to think it's just some more Chinese communist crap. Sorry."

If anyone has another good option for a camera, I'm your guy. Thanks.

I really want one of these back up cameras. They are super cheap and would make my life 10x easier. I race go karts and pull a small trailer behind the focus (pulled the same trailer with my old fiesta so don't give me Focus can toe BS, anyway). This will help me when backing up to the trailer and also while I'm driving as most of the time I cant see anything behind me as the hatch is in the way and the trailer is so small and low to the ground.

I found a couple of 7" screens on amazon with suction cups that you can just attach to the windshield that has RCA inputs so you can use the screen to see what the camera is seeing.

So I have all the hardware figured out. My question is since I don't care to only use the camera when I'm backing up, but at all times when the RCA's are plugged into the screen. How would I go about wiring up the camera? Would I tap into a 12v constant source that's on as long as the key is in ACC? I really don't know how its wired from the factory. I know that it switched on when put into reverse then switched off when not in reverse like all cars that come factory with rear view cameras.

Any help is appreciated,
Thanks gents.

Most of these after market camera and screen systems simply tap into the backup light circuit to power on the camera only when you are actually in reverse. If you want to use the camera all the time, you already know the drill, connect into a full time power circuit - like on the hot side of the switch that turns on your light when you open your hatch. If you want better control, you could wire in a switch that would give you control from the dash but your power run would be longer. Good luck.

Ditto. I only have the small Sync screen (not the larger MFT) and it's certainly large enough to use for backup camera purposes. I'd love to tap into it on the cheap.
