voices in subwoofer

I just finished installing my stereo and I thought I had tuned it all up properly using a test tone and a volt meter but I am getting voices from my subwoofers.

I have a Jl audio XD600/1 powering two Jl audio 10W0v3

I have the infrasonic filter set to 30hz and my frequency setting of 50hz with a 12db slope.

What might be causing the voices and how do I fix it.

Thanks Ben

Can you change the slope?

Not sure why you would be getting dialogue (if that's what you mean by "voices") in the sub with those settings, unless your crossover sucks and isn't doing what it says it is. That's a pretty low low pass as is.

That being said, you'll hear some voice (vocal or spoken word) through the sub no matter what. Male voices can go pretty low, and this is especially true if listening to talk radio and similar sources.

Thank you for your response.

I was able to figure out what was wrong. I forgot to turn the the low pass filter on that is incorporated in my head unit so it was sending all frequency's to the sub therefore making my crossover try to work to hard and it was unable to just product the frequency's wanted.

Whew, THAT's a relief.
I was ready for 'aliens' responses, or religious references.
