Double din made for fofo's

anyone heard of these guys or tried this head unit? I'd love to find a solid replacement for my almost dead svtf head unit.

Double Din Clicky

Never heard of them , I compare prices at Sonic Electronix and Crutchfield and go with who has the best price . But Crutchfield will send you all the extras to get you hooked up for free . And tech support is top notch when and if you run into a problem and need assistance.

Ive never heard of them either. But looking at the unit it will "fit" in the opening However our dash is curved, so it wont fit flat. and the sides of that unit will most likely block your coin tray and 12v outlet.

there a much better options out there from name brand companies like Pioneer and Kenwood that offer almost if not all the same features as that one.

Looking at the photo gallery they have, that car has every problem possible... It does look kinda cool, but I will recommend Crutchfield because they provide all materials necessary (provided the HU you buy is at least $120) and they give you all instructions needed along with technical support. Go with the reputable source that ships from this country.

Except that Crutchfield says a double din won't fit. So they won't sell you the kit you need in order to do it.

Order it from SonicElectronix and they will.

Double din wont fit properly. Extensive modification is needed and will be very easy to steal. It requires the permanent removal of bezel screws.

Fits fine in my car, its only easy to steal if you take the entire dash bezel out. It's up to you, but for me it was the easy choice.

The way I bought my car the radio was already pretty easy to steal. It'd be fun to rig up an electric shock to scare people away from the car. Or there are alarms that speak to people who get too close to the car. Or you can go the way of weight reduction, no stereo. Maybe you could also rig up a computer style lock (Kensington makes this I believe) attached to the frame/firewall.

yea the old stuff the double din in the svtf 1.8 din slot problem. I didnt think about it at the time I posted this but it's probably not for the mk3 fofo. A buddy of mine got one of this companies other radios for his truck because they have hdd's and are pretty feature rich for the cost. Personally I've always used crutchfield for my audio stuff, aside from the svtf anyways. I'm not good with my hands so most of the double din stuff methods arent for me but who knows maybe some day I'll get tired of not having pandora enough to hack my dash to pieces. Easy to steal is an issue for me but since I'm from Texas and have an alarm key fob any would-be thief would likely end up with a few .45 caliber holes in his or her chest ;)

Pioneer 2400BT

I just got the Pioneer 2400BT from Crutchfield, and it is amazing. I agree that the tech support is incredible and you can actually understand all the techs!
