This is a sticky thread for the Ford SYNC system. I've read some threads that people were having separate issues with SYNC from the MFT System. This thread is designed for people to discuss the SYNC Sytem and discuss issues and solutions with the SYNC System. Let's keep this clean.
I just bought a 2008 focus the radio works fine but i cannot connect to the blutooth. I press the phone button and it says no phone. My phone is discoverable and I have turned it on and off several times still nothing. I read that there are some kind of settings but i dont know how to navigate to them. Also to the far lett of the time display it shows the word LINE dont know if that is some kind of error code Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
If you can't locate an owners manual, at the very least go to owner.ford.com and set up an account. Have your VIN available. From there you can find out what version of Sync you have, find tech articles and a manual. Then follow the links and instructions for how to update the software if it doesn't have it. The instructions are very clear and tell you want kind of flash drive you'll need, etc. There are also tech articles here.
Early versions of Sync said they were only compatible with certain phones, but I bought my car used in 2014, updated the software, and have been able to connect to any phone I've ever tried. As a minimum first step, find a manual to know how to use the system, then update the software.
bump... Does anyone have USB files for upgrade for Sync 1 in a 2012 Ford Focus that they can share with me?
