Acid-Burn. You seem to be the most knowledgeable person I've seen on these forums regarding the Ford Focus equipment. Do you know the pinouts (or a source I can find them) for the various radio information display screens? I'm thinking of making my own simple interface to feed the backup video through the differential video signal when in reverse - so I don't have to reprogram anything, or worry about device compatibility.
Thanks.
I knew people, who watch a DVD on this screen [hihi] https://youtu.be/MMDwFBmf2uA
Screen recieve a signal of switching to rear gear from camera module on CAN and switches to rear camera picture... You need to broadcast this signal in CAN There is electrical circuit schematics for C346 MY2011
This is pinouts of MFD:
So, is the video signal itself broadcast in CAN? I thought there would be a differential video feeding the video signal into the MFD (which would be a balanced NTSC signal). If the video itself is broadcast in CAN - what chipset would you use to convert NTSC to CAN?
Hate to keep bugging you about this, but... my FCDIM doesn't have a Video connector. So, I'm thinking about cutting into the video+/- signal that is feeding in through the other connector. I'll feed that into a dpdt relay which has a video signal from the backup camera on the other contacts. When the car is shifted into reverse, the relay will flip the video+/- from sync to the backup video feed - so it would happen completely outside of the CAN bus. So, I'm trying to find a pinout diagram of the FCDIM so I know which pins to steal.

Did you have bluetooth in your car with 2 line display set?
What I found bluetooth is at least with 3.5" monochrome display but maybe it's my mistake .Also USB in glove compartment won't work if you have no bluetooth module and upgrade to 4.2" color display
Does anyone who changed display from 2 line to 3.5" monochrome can confirm that usb will work without bluetooth module.
At first you must know what type of bluetooth is installed in your car.
Simple bluetooth module, like this
Or microsoft sync
For first type of BT you need screen AM5T. This screen also fit to car without bluetooth, like mine [] (a USB works as earlier with this type of screen).
For sync you need BM5T or DM5T screen (with AM5T bluetooth doesn't work).
BM5T screen can be reflashed to AM5T.
All this is fair only for the European FF3. I don't know about North American specs.
A little bit of off topic []
Now i finished new swap. I installed sync and changed my 4.2-inch display to 5-inch with navi and direct camera connection.
I swapped my 2 line display to, bm5t 18b955 cg. It works perfectly however my usb stopped worked. I don't have sync module yet. How can I make my USB work again?
Hey Acid Burn, first time heading into this section of the forums! Just wanted some advice.
Basically I have SYNC (2014 build) and I'd like to go from this (3.5 inch monochrome)
I think it MIGHT be BM5T-18B955-BE
To the 4.2 Inch colour screen or (5 inch as shown in the 2nd picture)
These have a C or a S=D in the second last letter correct?
THE C Screen
The D screen
What would their part numbers be? Do the EM5T screens work? And would I need to use FOCCCUS to reprogram the module for them? THANKS!!! What about the EM5T screens?
I have found a complete radio unite and the SYNC module. We make the configuration according to similar car as-built. After installing SYNC connections icons came bu nothing else work about bluetooth and USB? I think car doesnt see the APIM.
I've changed my old 3,5" display by new one colour display 4.2" AM5T-18B955-CH and I have BT/USB modul on my C-Max 2011. Display has a FAKRA connector , my question is if the chinese reverse camera will be working correctly or do I have to chabge the FW or just plug and play? thank you
Hey Acid-Burn and UniversalFF wondering if it was possible to swap a 4.2" Bluetooth/Sync display to a 5" Unit with Nav and Camera? If so what parts do i need to source
