2005 Stock HU Removal

Sorry if this is old news, but I went to the How-To section and couldn't find anything on removing a 2005 stock head unit, so i googled around and found this picture. Would this be pretty accurate?

yes, that's it.
the only thing is I would remove that bin below the climate control and push out that trim piece from behind

that's what i always do. you can get the bottom half un-clipped by just pushing it with your fingers, then i take a flat head wrapped in tape and pry the top two corners out very carefully.

yeah, this must have been the easiest AUX adapter install. I just installed an iPhone/iPod RCA adapter made by Soundgate.

it works great and I was able to get it for around $70 via HiFiSoundConnection.

I would highly recommend against this and I would also caution others to be very careful around the cig lighter. As these cars get older, the odds for breakage increases exponentially. That 12V outlet has no support on it from the back and loves to break away. So I wouldn't put any real force on it and I'd also recommend using some extra caution around it when using any other method to remove the dash. Be careful when you're unplugging all the OEM harnesses from there. Once it cracks off, you're screwed.
