Intalled my Kenwood DDX7015 double din

so last night i was bored as hell so i decided to install my kenwood double din touch screen head unit in my focus. i had it in my truck for a year or 2 and took it out because i was gonna sell it but never got around to it so instead of letting it sit up i put it in my daily svt. ive read and read on here that to install a double din in a focus you need to cut and trim a bunch of stuff so thats one reason that i kept putting it off but i found out last night that this couldnt be farther from true. so i ran to walmart and bought a wiring harness to fit my car for $7. i came home and made a radio removal tool from a wire clothes hanger and pulled out my audiophile. i was going to eject the cd's first but since i own a audiophile that was next to impossible. instead i just took it apart and got my cd's back afterwards. so anyway i removed the stock hu and test fitted the kenwood before anything and whatta ya know you would think this thing was made to go in my car. the square hole that the stock hu is in is the EXACT same size as the kenwood unit. its snug but it fits with NO cutting. i think the only thing i did was removed the small block of foam thats stuck to the inner plastic that the hazard switch butts up against. i did however trim the lip on the black dash bezel where the stock hu face butts up against. this was simple and took only a few mins with my klein crimp tool and a pair of pliers. i notched the lip about every half inch then bent each tab back with the pliers til it snapped off completely. anyway here are the pics.

the surround sound sounds incredible thru my 2 12" subs and 800.1 amp. lemme know what you guys think!

this would require taking the bezel out but duraglass and some sanding would do wonders. after its shaped in then you could paint it like a gloss black with some clear to make it stand out a lil

it is navigation capable. and i may try to make some fillers for it inthe future but it wont be right now. it looks less noticable in person than in the pics so its fine as is for me right now.

If you get a explorer dash kit, you can modify it to fit and fill in the gaps.

See.
