Great sound, excellent picture quality and lots of useful features. Plays DVD, CD, and MP3 format. There is also a module that converts this deck into a navigation system.

Price: $1,400.00

The only all-in-one 8ch DSP dead-head HU, and it has dual 24-bit DACs with audiophile circuitry. The DSP offers 8 channels of time-alignment, crossovers including subsonic, 5-band PEQ, etc. Along with excellent amps and speaker components, this is one of the best SQ units you'll ever hear.
Company Name: Alpine
Model Number: CDA-9856
Price: $199.99
Overall Rating 1-10: 9
No graphic EQ (8 or 10 bands of adjustment pretty deep in the menus, though). Looks good with a clean (albeit alphanumeric-only) white-on-blue interface. On stock speakers it sounds drier than the stock head unit, although some playing in the EQ can change that, obviously
Company Name: Sony

~just a indash monitor. bright and excellent for playing games or movies with PS2. woulda gave it a 10 but the external screen(when screen is closed) is hard to see under some light conditions. i have a 10disc sony changer and tv tuner all controlled through the headunit and ps2 hooked to it. also have a line in so i can hook my psp to play even more music.
Company Name: PYLE
Model Number: PLD52MU
Price: $189.00
Overall Rating: 1-10: 10
Can't beat it for the price. 2.5 LCD, 7 A/V ports & USB port. Just added a PYLE PLVS7HM 7" WS LCD. Goal is to have a WinBook JiV Mini P60A PC running web access from my Samsung BT Cell.
All this will still be cheaper than most High End Nav units.
Company Name: JVC
Model Number: KD-G120
Price: $100-120
Overall Rating: 7-10
I know its an entry level HU but i really have enjoyed this for the one year i had it in my car. in 20 degree weather, it still was a loud as in the summer!
Ive never seen a cd player like mine. It was like $400 a few years ago at bestbuy. I love it. Its got aux hookups for my ipod and plays mp3 cds. I could be going off a cliff and my cd would not skip thanks to the tray.
Company Name: Kenwood
Model Number: KDC-X491
Price: $179.99 (from crutchfield)

This deck sounds SOO much better than the audiophile deck does. The sound settings are great and everything is extremely easy to adjust. If you want a deck with good bass output THIS is the one to get. Only thing i don't like is when you connect a usb device that has 250+ folders (like mine does), it takes a while to get to the right one because you can't scroll through them and they aren't named. Other than that one little problem, it's amazing.

Bought in May 2006 strictly for the easy iPod interface(KCE-422i)full speed control. I haven't used it to play a cd yet!, can't comment on that.
This HU is pretty outdated but no issues with it.
