My sister's focus went down for the count. I need a lower mileage SPI 2.0L for a 2002 4 door LX Focus. Give me a good motor with no problems, good price, mileage, automatic or manual and a way to contact you. I'll come pick it up.
I've been part of this community since 2005 and these are some of the most knowledgeable and decent people on the internet. I know someone out there has a deal for me to get her little daily driver back on the road.
I will do OH, PA, MI, ID, KY, WV, NY, WI that is probably it. I'd rather not drive more than 9 hours round trip from Kent Ohio
Why another SPI? Not feeling the whole swap? You'll be happy with it in the future

yeah not feeling the swap, really more time than I have and more money than she's got. Seems more of a project than that car is worth to her. Thanks for the link though!
Wanting a good motor so she can stop driving mom's minivan. My wife and I have 3 foci but the yellow thing is going into hibernation otherwise I'd just lend her out one for awhile.

I don't know a ton about it, but it really seems like it would be worth whatever extra hassle is involved to put a Zetec engine in. If you put another SPI in it would just be doomed to fail also, and probably sooner than later given the age of these engines.
Just my 2 cents.

Truth^ if you are willing to spend 1500 you can get a full Zetec swap like it rolled out of the factory like that. Speedway Recyclers here in WI have done several swaps.

appreciate the advice guys, I'll ask my Dad about when I take my car over to store it at their house later today. Its really his call I'm not footing the bill or doing the work unless my sister calls and asks.

Let me know if you're interested in the swap. I'll give you the guy's number.

Talked to my parents today over lunch and they seem more interested in just putting in a donor SPI engine and let the car run until it dies again or sell it. Hopefully my sister will get her teaching job soon and will be able to get herself a new ride before the donor motor gives up the ghost. Sad really because the rest of the car is pretty solid.
