My apologies if this has been addressed in another thread, but I couldn't find any information on koni yellow installation procedures for MK1 foci.
I recently bought a set of Koni Yellow struts / shocks second-hand off the buy-sell-trade marketplace. They didn't come with instructions but I was able to complete the installation of the front struts and part of the installation for the rear shocks.
When transferring the OEM bump stops, boot covers, and shock mount insulators onto the rear shocks, I noticed that the insulators don't fit over the rod of the Koni shocks.
I also noticed that the clearance holes in top mounts (inside the hatch) were also too small, but I was able to easily bore out larger clearance holes to fit the Koni rods through.
My question is, do I need to also bore out the washer inside the OEM shock mount insulators? Are the shock mount insulators necessary for proper fitment? There were no additional components which came with the rear shocks aside from new lock washers, nuts, and adjustment knobs.
If anyone has a copy of the Koni rear shock installation instructions that they could share an image of, that would be awesome.
