after a little more than a year and 16000 miles, in my 04 focus zx3, my front brakes started squeeking, i took my car to the dealer and paid $350 to have them done . just yeasterday i had to replace my rear brakes, the service consultant at the dealership told me that the rear brakes were cracked due to heat. that cost me another $220. i've never had to replace brakes this soon in any of my other cars. has anyone else had this problem? am i gonna have to replace my brakes this often in the future? Do drive an autocross track on the way to work? That sounds awfully soon to me.

Well when i bought my car new in 2000 my brakes squeeked too reall bad so I went to the delership and they replaced my pads for free under started squeeking again so back to ford where they replaced them again...all free of charge..

your saying you had to pay for it..thats a load of crap you should be covered under warranty..I was and as for the rear thats bullshit you should not have to pay for that..and they said it was cracked..I'd fight that for warranty work....

I have had a lot of Foci in my shop for brake problems and the earliest that I have seen them come in is 12000 miles and they needed front brakes and front rotors... The soonest that I have seen the rears needed is about 18000 miles... I have about 5 foci a week in my shop on the avarage.. They dont have worlds best brakes on them from the factory and the big downside to haveing the dealer do the brakes is that you are getting the same crappy material that just wore out prematurely... go aftermarket.......
