04 SVT Fenders rolled = Paint chipped

Just lowered the Focus and the front fenders cut my tires, not bad but bad enough that I had to do something about it. Heated up the fenders with a heat gun and proceded to roll the fenders. When done I noticed a tiny bit of paint cracking/chipping. Like 1" on the Drivers side and like 1/2" on the passenger. The primer seems to be in tact so rusting shouldnt happen but I want to touch up the areas that are cracked for 2 reasons. #1 just for looks and #2 to control the chip. I feel like if I apply enough touch up paint to the area , I will seal it and prevent further cracking. has anyone had experience with this? What do you recommend I do to keep the paint alive?

If you want to do it right, you just lightly sand the area and blend in new paint. You could pick up a little touch up brush too but I'm not sure you'll get the same adherence or longevity. You don't really want to seal the crack so much as get rid of the crack and spray new paint in its place.

Wheels are stock EAP. Its an SVT and its like 1" lower.

the rear is fine, it was the front that was scraping. The light rolling i did fixed it.

I had the same issue with mine. I like to think I used enough heat and rolled gradually but I obviously didn't. I'll be going after some new fenders at the scrap yard.

Mines not bad enough to merit new fenders, I just hope it doesnt get worse, seems like the common consensus is that if your gonna roll them you will get cracking period.
