New Monroe quick struts making creaking noise

Well I'm back again. You guys are probably getting tired of my noises. I'm hoping someone else on here has used quick struts and maybe can point me in the right direction on this one.

Few weeks ago I swapped out my old stock struts for a pair of Monroe quick struts. Installation was pretty smooth except for the passenger side (it was seized in the steering knuckle) I drove it for a few days with no problem but now I'm starting to notice a groaning and creaking noise from front drivers side.

A buddy helped me out with this and it was our first time doing struts. Did we miss a step? Should we have greased something? Is there a certain way these need to be put in? We did it with the car on jack stands.

I take it that the struts are assembled w/ the strut bearings? How are your front sway bar end links?

And yes. It's a complete assembly so it also includes the mounts

does that mean that you purchased them from someone on eBay or Craigslist? In that case, all bets are off. Mine are black...yours are blue...I'm assuming there was a Monroe decal on them somewhere? Did you go to the Monroe website and double-check your part #s?

I installed them a few years ago and have never heard noise from them. Installation is straightforward; nothing to grease. Did you double-check that the strut is fully seated in the knucle and the pinch bolt is tight?

Is the noise while driving on smooth pavement or bumps/potholes? Straight roads or corners? Turning the steering wheel while moving or parked?

I purchased the Monroe struts from oreilly auto parts. New double checked the tightness of everything

The noise is primarily when I go over any minor bump. It doesn't matter what direction the car is going

Mine made noise on stock struts at the time. Ended up being the sway bar links. Easy 14 dollar fix and they have grease fittings.

That's weird. Perhaps I'll try replacing them. I heard moog is the way to go but you have to grease them yourself.

I looked at moog but they were like 22 for one and I needed both sides. Should probably do both sides anyway. But if that is what you want to try it will probably be cheaper to get it fixed before it could break something else

So you're certain that the end links could possibly be to blame?
