05' ST Suspension

Does anyone know what kind of suspension the ST has? I'm trying to find out. I've read that it has "European suspension" but that doesn't mean anything to me. It's supposed to be similar SVT suspension. Still, I'm not sure what that's like either. I've only had my focus for about a month now and so as you can see I'm a newbie. Any help?

You can't move the thread, only a moderator can.

The suspension you have is a little bit more tuned than a regular focus, not as much as an SVT. I believe its just the regular focus with SVT dampeners. European Suspension is just a cleaver marketing slogan though, just emphasize the fact that it is some what "refined" and "sporty".

pretty sure that sales man has no idea what he's talking about. Dev, you can get more info on "race suspensions" in the suspension threads and in the sales threads.

ST has SVT dampers but different springs. So the least expensive suspension upgrade for the ST is to buy SVT springs from ford or elsewhere for a couple hundred bucks. This is actually a very quality, streetable setup.

As for "race" suspension, a set of decent coil-overs will cost you four figures- maybe $1300. But unless you're planning on going full out 100% project car on this, that's probably overkill. You can get a quality kit for $600, or buy a set of springs for $200, and some koni or gaz adjustable dampers for another $600 & have a pretty kick-ass setup.
