master cylinder's internal check valve bad?

2005 Focus ZX3

Hello,

My front right brake drags. Caliper, pads, lines, master cylinder replaced one year ago. Front right started dragging again.
Could it be this master cylinder's internal check valve is going bad?
Could vacuum leaks cause this?
Is there a brake or vacuum modulator that could cause the problem?

Much thanks for suggestions and help!

were the calipers new or remanufactured? Rebuilt parts are sometimes a roll of the dice, so it's not unthinkable that the piston is seized.

If it was a centralized problem (such as the master not fully releasing or faulty booster), then it would probably also be applying pressure to the other wheels, or at least to left-rear.
